Townhouses in Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Minnetonka, Bloomington
Land in desirable neighborhoods these days is at a premium. Townhouses offer an attractive option for many new homeowners–offering something in the middle between single family homes and condominiums. Townhomes offer what feels like a single family home in prime urban centers. Many homeowners who would like to live near urban centers choose townhomes as a balance of affordability and privacy. A typical single family home is larger and comes with a yard.
Townhouses are good choices for people who don’t want a condo but can’t afford a single-family house. A townhouse typically has a unique front and back entrance, is multiple stories, and has one or two shared walls. You will want to give careful thought as to whether you want to buy a home that shares walls with your neighbors. Some townhomes have HOA’s, homeowners’ associations, much like a condo. The HOA will probably cover some of the maintenance costs for grounds and other shared areas.
When you are ready to purchase, you’ll want to work with lenders who have experience underwriting loans for townhouses.
